Now, want to hear something cool? Coloring is actually one of the best ways for kids to develop fine motor skills and color recognition, and Barney makes the perfect subject because children already feel so connected to him! We love encouraging kids to think beyond the lines too. Maybe Barney is visiting the beach and meets a friendly pink starfish pal along the way! Your little artists could draw one right into the scene and create a whole new story. Pretty neat, right?!
And here’s another creative idea we just adore: what if Barney found himself in a gently spooky adventure with a silly, giggly purple ghost buddy? Kids could color the ghost in different shades of lavender and violet, making it the friendliest ghost you’ve ever seen (don’t worry, nothing scary here, just pure fun!). It’s an awesome way to stretch their imagination while practicing their coloring skills!
For the best results, we suggest using crayons or colored pencils for Barney’s body and maybe some watercolors for the background. The contrast looks absolutely beautiful and your little ones will feel like real artists!
Picoloring is always adding new cartoon pages to our library, so if Barney isn’t the last stop on your coloring adventure, be sure to explore more of our free printables and subscribe so you never miss a new release. Big purple hugs and happy coloring await!
